The report describes cost, prescription counts, and generic vs brand by provider specialty and provider group.   The drug class ranking and individual drug ranking panels add detailed data to support the user gaining a complete picture of prescriber trends and related costs.

Comparative data which describes provider services supports provider education and improvements in care delivery.  

 

Provides answers to questions regarding provider prescribing patterns:  1) Are members receiving the current Rx standard of care; 2) Are providers prescribing new and/or expensive drugs appropriately; 3) Should any pre-authorization processes be changed to control prescribing.  The P&T Committee, CMO, Medical Management and PBM will use this report to track, trend, and evaluate prescriber patterns.
